The AI Prompt That Actually Teaches You, Not Just Gives You Answers

If you've ever pasted a homework problem into ChatGPT and gotten an answer you didn't understand — this is for you.

I've been using this prompt with GPT's Extended Thinking mode, and it completely changed how I study math and CS problems. Instead of just spitting out a solution, it forces the AI to think through the logic and actually bring you along for the ride.

Here's how it works: attach your question as a file, then send this prompt:

"What is this question asking? What are the concepts that I need to know to approach this? Please explain those concepts, and guide me towards the correct answer. Start your explanations from a beginner level and get me to a level in which I can solve the problem and understand the solution you will present. Then based on those explanations and course concepts... you can create a final solution to the question."

That's it.

The magic is in the order — it makes the AI explain before it solves. You actually learn the "why" before seeing the answer, so when the solution shows up, it clicks.
